The statue in Montreux, Switzerland by sculptor Irena Sedlecka was erected as a tribute to Freddie Mercury. It stands almost 10 feet (3 metres) high overlooking Lake Geneva and was unveiled on 25 November 1996 by Freddie’s father and Montserrat Caballé, with bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor also in attendance.

The above Royal Mail Queen: Miniature Sheet were issued on 09 July 2020 by Royal Mail and feature the following stamp designs: 1st Freddie Mercury; 1st Roger Taylor; 1st Queen; £1.63 John Deacon; £1.63 Brian May. The Statue of Freddie Mercury first day cover with the Knebworth, Any Way the Wind Blows, Special Handstamp postmark has been produced by Bradbury and features these stamps which can make a very collectible and lovely gift.
