Each has a stamp (from a new set) franked with a special first day of issue postmark.
They are printed on both sides and often show reproductions of earlier stamps relevant to theme of the card issue.

The above Royal Mail D-Day were issued on 06 June 2019 by Royal Mail and feature the following stamp designs: 1st Men of No.4 Commando; 1st HMS Warspite; £1.35 Paratroopers; £1.35 Commandos; £1.60 Light Bomber; £1.60 Troops East Yorks Regiment. The D-Day Landings first day cover with the Southwick, Parachutists, Special Handstamp postmark has been produced by Bradbury and features these stamps which can make a very collectible and lovely gift.
