England (white borders) 2nd, 1st, E, 68p
Available varieties of this First Day Cover - subject to stock
Country pictorial stamps were first issued in 1999 to replace the 'regional' machin stamps. The first sets were issued without white borders. It was not until 2003 that Royal Mail changed their policy and decided to issue the stamps printed with white borders - this has continued up to the present day. Because the 2003 sets were very similar to those already in use without borders, many collectors missed the issue, thinking that they had already got them in their collection - making this set one of the most scarce in the series.
The above Royal Mail England (white borders) 2nd, 1st, E, 68p were issued on 14 October 2003 by Royal Mail and feature the following stamp designs: . The English Views first day cover with the London, Special Handstamp postmark has been produced by Bradbury and features these stamps which can make a very collectible and lovely gift.
