Angela Rippon CBE is an English television journalist, newsreader, writer and presenter. Rippon presented radio and television news programmes in South West England before moving to BBC One's Nine O'Clock News, becoming a regular presenter in 1975. She was the first female journalist permanently to present the BBC national television news, and the second female news presenter on British television after Barbara Mandell on Independent Television News (ITN) in 1955.

The above Royal Mail Tree & Leaf were issued on 01 August 2000 by Royal Mail and feature the following stamp designs: 2nd Yews; 1st Eden Project St. Austell; 45p Seed Bank Kew; 65p Forest for Scotland. The Angela Rippon Handwritten Note first day cover with the Kew Gardens, Special Handstamp postmark has been produced by Bradbury and features these stamps which can make a very collectible and lovely gift.
